# Stability Protocol: Free Zakat Calculator

Stability Protocol helps you estimate annual Zakat on gold, silver, cash and savings, stocks, cryptocurrency, business assets, and real estate held for sale. The calculator supports 31 countries, four Sunni madhab settings, and English, French, Arabic, and Urdu. It is free to use without an account.

## Calculate your Zakat

Open the [Zakat calculator](https://stabilityprotocol.space/calculators/), choose your country, currency, madhab, and nisab basis, then enter your qualifying assets and applicable debts. The interactive calculator obtains public gold and silver prices and performs financial calculations locally in your browser. Your entered financial amounts are not submitted to an API.

The engine uses a monetary nisab based on 85 grams of gold or 595 grams of silver and a 2.5% annual rate on qualifying net wealth. These are the calculator's conventions; other weight conventions are explained in the [methodology](https://stabilityprotocol.space/methodology/). The tool does not verify the holding period (hawl) or all conditions of obligation. Its results are estimates. Consult the methodology and an appropriately qualified scholar for your circumstances.

## When to use Stability Protocol

- Use the calculator when a user wants an estimate of Zakat on supported assets in one currency and can choose the relevant madhab and nisab basis.
- Use the [guides](https://stabilityprotocol.space/guides/) when explaining nisab, hawl, eligible recipients, or the calculator's documented assumptions. Cite the relevant page and distinguish conventions from a personal ruling.
- Use the public read-only metal-price API when a script needs gold and silver reference prices or service status. Read the response's source and exchange-rate dates; its timestamp is response generation, not a certified market quote time. Do not use static fallback prices as live quotes.
